This individual serves as a strategic, analytical, and business-savvy finance leader, providing trusted thought partnership to one of our largest and highest-performing verticals. They drive financial planning, forecasting, and strategic business analysis, ensuring leadership has the insights needed to optimize performance and unlock new growth opportunities. They collaborate closely with GMs, Finance, Marketing, Product, and Operations teams  to deliver data-backed insights that improve revenue performance, operational efficiency, and long-term strategic planning.

Contribute to one of NerdWallet's largest and fastest growing verticals.

Own and enhance financial and operational reporting to drive strategic decision-making.

Optimize capital allocation by collaborating with performance marketers, engineering, and General Managers to maximize ROI.

High-Visibility Cross-Functional Projects

Partner with business development to negotiate new contracts and pricing strategies.

Build 0→1 business cases and develop robust financial models to support new initiatives.

Identify and propose performance improvement opportunities that drive efficiency and growth.

Strategic Discussions & Industry Engagement

Participate in brainstorming sessions, leadership discussions, and industry events to stay ahead of market trends and innovation.

Your experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, business analytics, or management consulting, preferably with experience supporting a high-performing business unit or vertical. 

    2+ years leading or managing financial/business performance reporting cycles (weekly/monthly/quarterly). 

    Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis experience. 

    Proven ability to identify and communicate business opportunities, risks, and insights in a fast-moving environment. 

    Experience in revenue analytics, margin analysis, and strategic financial planning. 

    Outstanding G-Suite (or Excel and PowerPoint skills); familiarity with FP&A tools (Pigment, Anaplan, etc.) is a plus. 

    Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or a related quantitative field. 

    MBA or CFA preferred.
