Dates: For course dates between end of June and end of August 2025

Pay: £32 to £55 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Pay bands depend on subject knowledge and relevant teaching experience. Accommodation and travel expenses not covered.

Working pattern: 18 hrs of seminars, alongside up to 8 hrs of tutorials per 2-week course. Contact time and preparation allowance depend on class size.

Seminar and tutorial teaching - Create a positive, yet challenging experience with a productive learning environment and strong work ethic for students.

Facilitate university-style study - Set sufficient pre-course work and independent study throughout the course to encourage students to develop their own ideas, including longer tutorial assignments to be marked.

Provide feedback - Support students’ academic development through individual feedback during paired tutorials, informal feedback on other work completed and personalised reports at the end of the course.

Complete an induction - Familiarise yourself with company procedures, logistical requirements and safeguarding in advance.

Support students: Record attendance and report any welfare concerns to keep students safe.

You’re enthusiastic about sharing your subject at university level

You take an inclusive, question-led approach to teaching based on student contributions

You understand of the range of subject knowledge and abilities of different 16‒17 yr olds

You’re comfortable explaining complex concepts to non-specialists

You appreciate of the importance of safeguarding young people

Master’s or higher degree in a relevant subject

Experience of teaching or working with students in a related role

Clear evidence of planning creative classes and engaging teaching

Proven ability to adapt to suit the learning needs of young international students

Right to work in the UK (we cannot sponsor work visas for this role)

Undergraduate teaching responsibility, particularly Oxbridge-style tutorial teaching

Teaching A level or equivalent in a secondary school

Planning your own teaching

You may hold, or be working towards your PGCE, QTS, Advance HE fellowship, or another teaching qualification.
