Position Summary:
The IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our organization's IT systems. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Database and Backup Management:
Collaborate on migrating and managing practice management databases (SQL/Open Dental) to Microsoft Azure
Co-manage a robust backup ecosystem (Axcient/Azure Backup), ensuring 100% recoverability for both on-premises and cloud assets
System Design and Implementation:
Collaborate with the IT team to design and implement robust, scalable, and secure IT systems
Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to meet business requirements
Infrastructure Management:
Administer and maintain servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure components
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources
Security and Compliance:
Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard the organization's data and IT assets
Ensure systems comply with industry standards and regulations
Troubleshooting and Support:
Provide technical support to end-users and resolve IT-related issues in a timely manner
Collaborate with the helpdesk team to escalate and resolve complex problems
Documentation:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures
Keep documentation up-to-date to facilitate knowledge sharing and training
Collaboration:
Work closely with other IT teams and departments to understand business needs and provide effective IT solutions
Participate in cross-functional projects to ensure seamless integration of IT systems
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Proven experience as an IT Systems Engineer or similar role
Strong knowledge of system and network administration, including proficiency with operating systems, virtualization, and cloud technologies
Familiarity with security best practices and the ability to implement and manage security measures
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Skills:
Experience in dental or healthcare environments
Certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect
Experience with scripting and automation tools
Knowledge of ITIL framework
