Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver engaging lesson plans for accounting courses in both classroom and online settings
- Assist in developing program and course syllabi, goals, and objectives that align with industry standards
- Evaluate students' progress in attaining course goals and objectives, providing constructive feedback and support
- Participate in academic support services, including student advisement, registration, and tutoring
- Request and maintain necessary supplies and equipment, preparing budget requests as needed
- Ensure program certification requirements are met, staying up-to-date with relevant regulations and standards
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation and administrative reports
- Stay current with industry trends and developments by attending staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences
- Serve on college committees, participate in community service activities, and contribute to college initiatives
- Maintain a safe and secure learning environment, adhering to college policies and procedures
- Meet with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss student progress and address concerns
- Demonstrate a high level of effort and commitment to performing work, operating effectively within the organizational structure
- Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts, working closely with local industries and the Department of Labor
Requirements and Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Accounting or a related field with 18 graduate semester hours in Accounting from an accredited post-secondary institution
- Three years of work experience in the Accounting field, demonstrating effective verbal and written communication skills
- Active participation in relevant professional or occupational organizations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Documented experience teaching post-secondary Accounting courses
