Job Overview

The Telehealth Program Assistant will be responsible for providing virtual support to patients and staff in the inpatient care space. This will involve monitoring patients remotely, identifying potential safety risks, and taking proactive steps to prevent harm. The successful candidate will be able to work independently, think critically, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide virtual support to patients and staff in the inpatient care space, including monitoring patients remotely and identifying potential safety risks
  • Take proactive steps to prevent harm, including reporting concerns to the healthcare team and implementing safety protocols as needed
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure that patient needs are met and safety concerns are addressed
  • Document patient interactions and safety events in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and care outcomes

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • One (1) year of medical, secretarial, or customer service work experience required
  • Ability to work independently and think critically in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software applications

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly in a telehealth or virtual care role
  • Certification in a related field, such as medical assisting or healthcare technology
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs) and other healthcare software applications
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills
