Salary Rate: $150,000 - $200,000 + Quarterly Bonus Structure
I am working with a national mechanical contractor, who is currently building multiple large data centers across the country. We are looking for senior mechanical project managers who are open to traveling to or relocating to any of these projects and can start you right away. What You Will Do
• Lead full lifecycle management of mechanical scopes for hyperscale and enterprise data center projects.
• Oversee planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and resource allocation for multi-million-dollar mechanical packages.
• Manage installation of chilled water systems, CRAH/CRAC units, air distribution, pumps, piping, and mission-critical mechanical equipment.
• Coordinate closely with design engineers, BIM/VDC teams, commissioning agents, and trade partners to ensure constructability and alignment with project requirements.
• Review and approve mechanical drawings, submittals, RFIs, and technical documentation.
• Drive field execution, ensuring quality, safety, productivity, and adherence to owner standards.
• Lead weekly project meetings, track progress, and proactively resolve issues impacting schedule or cost.
• Maintain strong client relationships, providing clear communication, forecasts, and risk mitigation plans.
• Support commissioning activities, integrated systems testing, and turnover documentation.
• Mentor project engineers and junior PMs, contributing to team development and best-practice adoption.
Skills & Experience Required
• 8+ years of mechanical project management experience, with at least 3 years in mission-critical or data center environments.
• Deep understanding of HVAC systems, chilled water plants, mechanical piping, and critical cooling infrastructure.
• Proven ability to manage large mechanical scopes, subcontractors, budgets, and schedules on complex projects.
• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and BIM models.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
• Strong problem-solving ability and comfort operating in high-stakes, fast-moving environments.
• Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet), Microsoft Office, and construction documentation platforms.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Experience supporting commissioning and integrated systems testing is a plus.
