Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Tutoring Center Aide to join our Math Tutoring Lab team at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College. As a Tutoring Center Aide, you will play a vital role in providing individualized support to students in math and statistics, fostering a positive learning environment, and contributing to the success of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tutor students in various math subjects and basic statistics, providing personalized guidance and support.
• Assist with data entry, record keeping, customer service, and general office duties as needed.
• Create a welcoming and inclusive environment that promotes student learning and success.
• Implement and enforce Tutoring Center and A-B Tech policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Tutoring Center Coordinator.

Requirements:

• Associate's degree with significant coursework in math, statistics, or a related field.
• Thorough knowledge of math and statistics concepts.
• Experience in teaching or tutoring in a higher education setting, or relevant work experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computing skills and ability to use a graphing calculator.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Math, statistics, or a related field.
• Knowledge of chemistry and/or physics.
• At least 2 years of experience in teaching or tutoring in a higher education setting.
• Familiarity with A-B Tech's campus and curriculum.
