UX/UI Designer

Remote, USA
Posted Jun 12, 2026
Full-time

Some designers make things look good. The best designers make incredibly complex systems feel effortless. We’re looking for a UX/UI Designer who can turn industrial complexity into intuitive, elegant user experiences that real people actually enjoy using.

This isn’t a “make the buttons prettier” kind of role. We need someone who can dive deep into how operators, engineers, and technicians think, work, and make decisions—then transform those insights into modern interfaces that improve usability, efficiency, and safety in high-impact industrial environments.

You’ll work alongside product managers, software developers, automation engineers, and stakeholders to shape the next generation of industrial software experiences. If you love solving messy, meaningful problems and creating products that users genuinely appreciate, this role was probably made for you.

Who We Are

At Vertech, not only do we develop world class industrial automation solutions for some of the top US companies, we also strive to be the team of choice for the best and brightest talent. I mean, we call ourselves control freaks for a reason.

The passion (and intelligence) our employees have is truly mind-blowing. In turn, we work hard to take care of our own with excellent benefits and pay, personal development, and transparent communication. We also know that you can be great at what you do and still have fun.

If that sounds like a good fit, help us bring the next generation of automation solutions to industries including data centers, renewable energy, manufacturing, food and beverage, water and wastewater, and more.

Top Reasons to Work with Us

Flexible work schedule with work from home options for many roles

Transparent communication from leadership

Competitive compensation including a bonus plan

No more than a 4 week waiting period on all benefits including the 401k

A manager that is cool…most of the time, because no one is perfect

A path for growth, a great culture, PTO, AND MORE!

What You Will Be Doing

Conduct user research to deeply understand the workflows, pain points, and goals of industrial users including operators, technicians, and engineers

Plan and execute interviews, usability studies, field observations, surveys, and other research activities that generate actionable insights

Transform research findings into personas, journey maps, workflows, and product recommendations

Design intuitive wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes for industrial web, desktop, and embedded applications

Create modern, scalable user experiences for complex operational systems and data-driven applications

Collaborate closely with software developers, automation engineers, and product stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle

Advocate for the user during planning, design, and implementation decisions

Iterate rapidly based on user feedback, analytics, and evolving business needs

Help establish and maintain design systems, UI standards, and reusable component libraries

Bring clarity and simplicity to environments where complexity is often considered “normal”

What You Need for this Position

Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Industrial Design, Psychology, or related field

5-7 years of experience in UX/UI research and design

Proven experience designing complex B2B, industrial, or operational software applications

Strong proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD

Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills

Strong understanding of usability principles, interaction design, and information architecture

Ability to balance user needs, technical constraints, and business goals in fast-moving environments

Experience working in Agile product development environments

Bonus Points If You Have

Experience in manufacturing, automation, or other industrial environments

Familiarity with SCADA systems, PLC interfaces, MES systems, or operational technology platforms

Background in human factors engineering or cognitive psychology

Experience building and maintaining design systems and component libraries

Passion for making highly technical systems feel approachable and intuitive

Why This Role Matters

Industrial software has historically prioritized functionality over usability. We think users deserve both.

The UX/UI Designer plays a critical role in shaping how people interact with Vertech’s digital products every single day. Your work will directly influence productivity, safety, operational efficiency, and user satisfaction across some of the most advanced industrial environments in the world.

No pressure. But if you’ve ever wanted to design software that genuinely impacts how industries operate, this is your chance.
