Project overview

I’m a business owner who wants to learn how to shoot and edit my own content (YouTube / Reels / Shorts). I don’t want to outsource editing forever. I want a skilled editor–teacher to work with me for 6–8 weeks so I can become self-sufficient.

Success = at the end of this project I can plan, shoot, edit, color grade, and export my own videos without you.

Scope of work

Over 6–8 weeks, I want to:

Choose and set up a simple gear stack (iPhone or basic camera, mic, lights).

Learn a repeatable workflow in .

Learn basic editing: cuts, pacing, music, B‑roll, titles.

Learn practical color correction & grading for YouTube / social.

Learn export settings and thumbnails.

Build 3–5 simple templates / presets and 3–5 SOPs I can follow.

How we’ll work

2 calls per week (60–90 minutes) on Zoom.

You screen share and walk me through:

Setting up projects

Editing my footage live

Doing color I can't provide cloning or replication instructions.

Between calls, you give me small assignments; we review and correct them on the next call.

We’ll produce at least 8–12 finished short videos from this process.

Deliverables

By the end, I want:

8–12 finished edited & graded videos (30–180 seconds).

1 saved project file I can duplicate as a template.

2–3 custom LUTs or color presets for my setup.

3–5 written checklists / SOPs (shooting, editing, color, exporting).

Requirements

3+ years editing for YouTube / social (portfolio required).

Strong color grading skills (before/after examples).

Fluent in teaching beginners; clear English on calls.

Comfortable explaining why you do things, not just clicking buttons.

Budget & timing

6–8 week project, starting ASAP.

Expecting to pay a mid-level editor / teacher range depending on experience and results. Open to fixed project pricing for the full curriculum.

To apply, answer these questions:

Show 2–3 links to videos you’ve edited and graded that are similar to what I want. What exactly did you do on each?

Have you ever taught a beginner to edit / color before? How did you structure it?

If you had 6 weeks to get me publishing 2–3 videos per week on my own, what would your rough week-by-week plan look like?
