WordPress Developer — Custom Theme, Plugins & Cloudways Maintenance

Funny Business Agency (funny-business.com) is a Michigan-based entertainment booking agency. Our WordPress site runs on a custom PHP theme hosted on Cloudways and is our primary lead generation tool. We need a reliable developer for ongoing maintenance and occasional development work.

This is not a role for someone who needs to be managed. The right person identifies issues, brings them to us with a plan, gets approval, and executes. You communicate proactively and don't require chasing.

WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON

Plugin updates, audits, and conflict resolution. Custom theme modifications and new template development in PHP. Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) configuration and field group management. Custom Post Type setup and management. Search & Filter Pro integration and tuning. Cloudways server management including caching, backups, staging, and performance. Schema markup and structured data implementation. Bug fixes, layout issues, and responsive QA. Occasional project-based builds such as a new Case Studies CPT with ACF fields and custom templates.

REQUIRED SKILLS

WordPress.org (self-hosted), custom PHP theme development, Advanced Custom Fields, Custom Post Types, Cloudways, Search & Filter Pro, HTML/CSS/JS.

ENGAGEMENT

5 hrs/month minimum retainer, additional hours billed as needed and approved in advance. Larger project work quoted separately before any hours are logged.
