ANALYST II
Caltrans District 3 is part of the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), the nation’s largest public pension fund. They are seeking a skilled Consultation Analyst to market the CalPERS Health Benefits Program to public agencies and school employers, requiring exceptional presentation skills and the ability to analyze data for actionable insights.
Responsibilities
- Market the CalPERS Health Program to prospective public agencies and school employers by conducting research and performing outreach through daily phone calls, emails, and in-person visits to educate employers about the program
- Prepare and deliver compelling and customized presentations to stakeholders and decision-makers, effectively communicating complex information
- Educate and communicate to employers about the Public Employees' Medical and Hospital Care Act (PEMHCA)
- Manage, document, and track employer interactions, providing regular reports to leadership
- Represent the CalPERS Health Program at on-site events such as conferences, health fairs, and public meetings
- Lead new contracting agencies in the entire onboarding process, including coordinating retiree mailers and health fairs with health carriers

- Experience in customer or marketing outreach, education/training, or consultation services to build and maintain professional business relationships
- Experience in delivering persuasive presentations and trainings—technical and professional—to executives, boards, and diverse audiences
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of computer functions and programs, such as Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience in analyzing, interpreting, implementing program policies and procedures
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and convey complex subject matter in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to edit documents and written materials, such as letters, reports, procedures and technical manuals, to ensure accuracy and completeness of information presented
- Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment in all work-related activities, and work effectively with sensitive subject matter
- Professional demeanor and ability to build trust with stakeholders at all levels
- Knowledge of the myCalPERS system
