ASSOCIATE TELECOMMUNICATIONS ENGINEER
The California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) is seeking an Associate Telecommunications Engineer to join their team dedicated to emergency management and homeland security. The role involves ensuring engineering services for public safety communications and may include rotational assignments within various engineering divisions.
Responsibilities
- Under direction of a Senior Telecommunications Engineer, the position ensures engineering services for public safety communications meet the critical operational requirements of the state
- Rotational assignments: This position may be rotated within the Radio or Microwave Engineering Divisions based on factors that include cross training and workload management
Skills
- Participation in the DMV Pull Program is required
- A valid Driver's License (DL) is required
- Medical Clearance prior to being hired is required if entering the Electrical Engineer classification
- All applicants must provide a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for the hiring manager's review
- Good oral and written communications skills
- Experience troubleshooting electrical/electronics systems
- Experience with RF engineering and design
- Experience with Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems
- Experience with deploying wireless technologies
- Experience with customer interaction and on-boarding
- Experience developing process to scale operations
