REDCOM Laboratories, Inc. is a U.S. company specializing in advanced communication solutions. They are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Benefits and Leave Specialist to manage employee benefits and leave administration while fostering a supportive employee experience.

Responsibilities

  • Administer open enrollment processes, including plan communications, employee enrollments, and changes via HRIS and carrier portals
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits and leave inquiries, conducting one-on-one sessions to explain options in an accessible, patient manner
  • In lockstep with our broker, manage self-funded health plans, including claims reconciliation, stop-loss monitoring, and coordination with third-party administrators (TPAs)
  • Administer employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, medical, personal, disability, and other applicable leaves; process requests, determine eligibility, coordinate certifications, and ensure smooth returns to work
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, FMLA, ADA, and other relevant regulations; prepare required filings and audits
  • Analyze benefits and leave utilization data to recommend cost-effective improvements and support annual renewals
  • Collaborate with payroll and finance on deductions, reconciliations, COBRA administration, and leave-related pay adjustments
  • Develop and deliver educational workshops, webinars, or materials on benefits and leave topics to empower employees
  • Maintain accurate records, resolve discrepancies, and generate reports for leadership on benefits and leave metrics and trends
  • Assist in vendor negotiations and stay abreast of industry best practices for self-funded employer benefits and leave management

Skills

  • 1-3 years of experience in benefits administration, leave administration, or related HR support roles (candidates with exposure to both benefits and leaves are ideal; less experienced applicants with strong familiarity in these areas are encouraged to apply)
  • Familiarity with FMLA and common leave processes
  • A 'teacher by nature' mindset—proven ability to break down complex information into clear, engaging guidance for diverse employees
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data handling
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., Paychex, Employee Navigator) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine passion for helping others
  • Experience managing self-funded employer benefits, including health, dental, and wellness programs
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or benefits-specific certification (a plus but not required)
  • Familiarity with manufacturing or small-company environments where you can build strong, direct relationships
