Business Analyst
The Virginia Department of Taxation is seeking an analytical and results-driven Business Analyst to join their Collections Unit. This role involves creating and presenting insightful reports, effectively communicating complex data to inform decision-making, and collaborating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Identify, gather, and compile key performance indicators (KPIs) for Collections, Court Debt, Tobacco, and Offer In Compromise
- Monitor and coordinate the creation of data-driven dashboards that track and showcase collections metrics
- Serve as a key point of contact for the Collections team in supporting process improvements, implementing new reporting systems, and ensuring smooth collaboration with all levels of Collections Management
- Act as the primary liaison between the Collections Unit and various external stakeholders, including the Commissioner’s Office, the Attorney General’s office, legislative offices, and other parties
Skills
- Experience identifying, gathering and compiling information for metric driven dashboards
- Experience with SQL queries for data extraction, manipulation, and creating/generating reports
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Office, or similar software
- Experience researching/analyzing statistical data
- Experience working on team or independent projects
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people
- Prefer progressive work experience in collections and customer service
