BDO Canada is a firm focused on fostering positive relationships and exceptional service. They are seeking a Consultant for their Risk Advisory team to help clients navigate emerging risks and develop strategies for resilience and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Support client engagements in areas such as internal audit, enterprise risk management, internal controls design and assessment, program evaluation, independent third-party reviews, business process enhancement or redesign, and IT general and application controls assessments
  • Review, document, evaluate, and test business processes and internal controls to ensure they are designed and operating effectively across diverse environments and industries
  • Develop client deliverables that include risk assessments, detailed analyses, actionable recommendations, and clear reporting documentation
  • Collaborate with engagement teams to establish timelines, monitor progress, and maintain high-quality client service through consistent communication and updates to managers and team members
  • Drive innovation in service delivery by identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring all work aligns with the firm’s quality and risk management standards
  • Assist team with business development initiatives, including preparing proposals for new and existing clients
  • Contribute to the development and refresh of methodologies for current and emerging solutions and services
  • Maintain a proactive and logical approach to gathering information and present complex ideas in a clear and understandable manner
  • Apply strong project management skills, work collaboratively with team members, and leverage technology and tools to enhance the quality and efficiency of deliverables
  • Solicit and incorporate feedback from team members to improve the quality and effectiveness of future engagements
  • Build positive working relationships with clients and identify opportunities for improvement in future assignments

Skills

  • You have completed a relevant post-secondary program or degree or diploma
  • You have completed or are interested in pursuing a professional designation (CPA, CIA, CISA, CE, etc.)
  • You have 0–2 years of experience in risk advisory, consulting, internal audit, or evaluation setting
  • You have strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • You have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • You have or qualify to obtain Government of Canada security clearance
  • Bilingual in French and English is considered an asset
