Director of Facilities & Estates – Care Homes

Essex, London, Kent & Surrounding Areas
£70,000 – £75,000 per annum
No Fixed Base

We are working in partnership with a growing care home provider to recruit a dynamic and hands-on Director of Facilities & Estates to lead property, compliance and estate strategy across their portfolio.

This is a key senior leadership role requiring someone who can operate both strategically and operationally, setting direction at board level while also being visible and active on site

The Role

  • Lead the estates and facilities strategy across multiple care home locations

    Oversee compliance relating to fire safety, health & safety, water hygiene, statutory testing and property standards

    Develop and implement planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes

    Manage refurbishment projects, capital works and contractor performance

    Ensure homes are inspection-ready from an environmental and safety perspective

    Provide hands-on support to Home Managers with facilities challenges

    Drive cost control, budget management and supplier negotiations

    Build robust reporting systems for board-level oversight

About You

  • Senior estates/facilities leadership experience, ideally within care homes, healthcare or multi-site environments

    Strong understanding of regulatory compliance within care settings

    Able to balance strategic planning with practical, on-the-ground problem solving

    Experienced managing contractors and capital projects

    Commercially aware with strong budget management skills

    Comfortable travelling extensively across Essex, London, Kent and surrounding areas

    Self-sufficient and adaptable – this is a field-based role with no fixed office base
