The Energy Systems Analyst I is responsible for assessing building mechanical and electrical systems, conducting site surveys, and assisting in the development of energy-efficient projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the production of projects that are on-time, within-budget and meet the requirements of industry standards & codes and client specifications
  • Conducts site surveys to determine existing facility conditions either independently or with senior level staff/project manager. Assists in identifying and preparing energy efficient and deferred maintenance scope
  • Assists in the performing of mechanical system calculations including load calculations, ventilation schedules, etc
  • Interacts in meetings with internal company members as related to the project deliverables
  • Reviews and analyzes the designs and prepared drawings for mechanical systems for projects including duct and pipe sizing with assistance from senior level staff
  • Assists the development team in the coordination with other discipline including energy modeling, financial modeling, lighting, design, etc
  • Attends in-house and external training sessions to obtain knowledge in necessary technical areas related to building systems
  • Participates in industry organizations and attends events, meetings, and activities
  • Upholds the Company owner advocacy philosophy and organizational core values

Skills

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from a four year ABET accredited university
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills and aptitude
  • Required experience in Excel and Word
  • Ability to communicate effectively with facility managers and engineers
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines while on survey
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet project deadlines
  • Ability to use technology and apps for collecting data while on survey
  • Passion for quality and client satisfaction
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary
  • Prefer 1-3 years of energy related client interface for an engineering design firm
  • Preferred experience with building energy services in the health and higher-education field
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical design drawings
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE)
  • Participation in industry organizations and attends events, meetings, and activities
