Energy Systems Analyst I

The Energy Systems Analyst I is responsible for assessing building mechanical and electrical systems, conducting site surveys, and assisting in the development of energy-efficient projects.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the production of projects that are on-time, within-budget and meet the requirements of industry standards & codes and client specifications
- Conducts site surveys to determine existing facility conditions either independently or with senior level staff/project manager. Assists in identifying and preparing energy efficient and deferred maintenance scope
- Assists in the performing of mechanical system calculations including load calculations, ventilation schedules, etc
- Interacts in meetings with internal company members as related to the project deliverables
- Reviews and analyzes the designs and prepared drawings for mechanical systems for projects including duct and pipe sizing with assistance from senior level staff
- Assists the development team in the coordination with other discipline including energy modeling, financial modeling, lighting, design, etc
- Attends in-house and external training sessions to obtain knowledge in necessary technical areas related to building systems
- Participates in industry organizations and attends events, meetings, and activities
- Upholds the Company owner advocacy philosophy and organizational core values
Skills
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from a four year ABET accredited university
- 1-3 years of experience
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills and aptitude
- Required experience in Excel and Word
- Ability to communicate effectively with facility managers and engineers
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines while on survey
- Ability to manage time effectively to meet project deadlines
- Ability to use technology and apps for collecting data while on survey
- Passion for quality and client satisfaction
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary
- Prefer 1-3 years of energy related client interface for an engineering design firm
- Preferred experience with building energy services in the health and higher-education field
- Experience with mechanical and electrical design drawings
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE)
- Participation in industry organizations and attends events, meetings, and activities
