Entry-Level Traffic/ITS Engineer
AECOM is a global infrastructure consulting firm committed to delivering a better world. The Entry-Level Traffic and Intelligent Transportation Systems Engineer will support planning studies, review development proposals, and conduct field evaluations under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Supports planning studies and reports for new and updated plans, programs and regulations
- Reviews or assists in the review of development proposals and site plans for conformance with codes, plans and regulations
- Prepares and presents detailed reports on development proposals to government bodies
- Collects a variety of statistical data and prepares reports and maps on topics, such as census information, land use, transportation tax base data and occupancy rates
- Under direct supervision, conducts field evaluations and assessments
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Valid U.S. Driver's License, and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's motor vehicle records review
- 0-2 years of Traffic/Transportation/ITS-related internship or work experience
- Engineer in Training certification
- MicroStation/AutoCAD experience
- Strong communication skills
- Applicable course work and demonstrated interest in Transportation/Traffic Engineering and/or Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
- Experience with Synchro and HCS traffic analysis software, Bentley Softwares such as Microstation or OpenRoads Designer and Microsoft Office
- Prior design experience with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission as it relates to traffic engineering, signal design, ITS design, plan production, project estimates and specifications
