Executive Assistant → Director of Hockey Operations

They are seeking a candidate for a career growth opportunity, starting as an Executive Assistant to the COO and transitioning to the Director of Hockey Operations after a successful onboarding period.
Responsibilities
- Lead hockey operations for youth hockey tournaments and events
- Oversee sports operations, event logistics, scheduling, and staffing
- Manage tournament operations , officials, venues, and travel coordination
- Act as the primary contact for coaches, teams, referees, and partners
- Manage operations budgets, expense reports, and cost controls
- Build and improve operational processes, workflows, and systems
- Hire, train, and manage event staff and contractors
- Collaborate with marketing, media, and leadership teams on event execution
- Provide executive administrative support to the COO
- Assist with project coordination, operations planning, and documentation
- Gain hands-on experience in sports event operations and tournament execution
Skills
- Experience in sports management, hockey operations, event operations, or project management
- Strong organizational, administrative, and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Experience with expense management, budgeting, and reporting
- Proficiency in office software, scheduling tools, and operations systems
- Background in youth hockey or sports organizations is a strong asset
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, or Operations is a plus
