**Responsibilities**

As a Billing Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for:

* Reviewing patient claims on an individual basis, investigating and managing all credits, refunds, and payments to ensure accurate and timely resolution.
* Managing the billing hotline, providing exceptional support to patients who reach out to us via this channel, and ensuring that their concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
* Making outbound soft calls to patients to confirm receipt of invoices, respond to questions, and make reasonable efforts to collect amounts based on the patient's individual financial situation.
* Providing exceptional customer service through clear and empathetic communication with patients, internal team members, and clients via telephone and in writing.
* Managing and utilizing time effectively to ensure the department meets required service levels for improved patient care, while also assisting others within the unit to achieve shared goals.

**Qualifications**

To succeed as a Billing Customer Service Representative, you'll need:

* A minimum of one (1) year experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in working with patients on bill resolution.
* Basic skills in Microsoft Outlook and Excel, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems.
* A positive and sympathetic approach to patients with Substance Use Disorders, demonstrating understanding and empathy in their current situation.

**Desired Experience**

While not required, experience in the following areas is highly desirable:

* Making outbound "soft" collection calls to patients related to their bills.
* Handling difficult patients who reach out to resolve their balances.
* Demonstrating a strong understanding of patient financial situations and developing creative solutions to address their needs.
