IGEL Endpoint Engineer – OS Migration

Rate: $95–$105/hr W2

Duration: 8-week consulting engagement

Location: Fully remote (EST hours required)

Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced IGEL Endpoint Engineer to support a short-term engagement focused on enterprise IGEL environment assessment, troubleshooting, and operating system migration from IGEL OS 11 to IGEL OS 12.

This role will work closely with engineering stakeholders to support a combination of environment review, issue remediation, and structured migration planning and execution within a large-scale IGEL-managed endpoint environment.

Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced IGEL Endpoint Engineer to support a short-term engagement focused on enterprise IGEL environment assessment, troubleshooting, and operating system migration from IGEL OS 11 to IGEL OS 12.

This role will work closely with engineering stakeholders to support a combination of environment review, issue remediation, and structured migration planning and execution within a large-scale IGEL-managed endpoint environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform technical assessment of the current IGEL environment, including IGEL UMS configuration, ICGs, device profiles, and endpoint policies

Troubleshoot and resolve IGEL-related endpoint issues in collaboration with engineering and operations teams

Support configuration review, validation, and remediation activities across IGEL-managed devices

Assist with planning and execution of IGEL OS migration from version 11 to version 12, including sequencing, readiness, and rollout support

Participate in technical working sessions to review findings, provide recommendations, and support implementation activities

Support operational stability during migration activities, including identifying and resolving cross-system dependencies

Provide hands-on engineering support across IGEL UMS, endpoint devices, and related virtual desktop infrastructure as needed

Desired Experience

Hands-on experience with IGEL OS, including IGEL UMS and IGEL Cloud Gateway (ICG)

Experience supporting IGEL OS upgrades, migrations, or large-scale endpoint rollouts (OS 11 to OS 12 preferred)
Strong background in Endpoint Engineering, EUC, or Desktop Engineering environments

Strong troubleshooting skills across endpoint, configuration, and connectivity layers

Familiarity with virtual desktop environments (Citrix, VMware Horizon, AVD, or similar)

Experience supporting thin client or zero-trust endpoint environments is highly desirable

Ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment with shifting priorities

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical stakeholders

Engagement Details

Duration: 8-week consulting engagement

Location: Fully remote

Time Zone: Preferred EST hours; must be flexible to collaborate with global teams, including India-based resources, as needed outside standard EST hours
