Job Summary
The Licensed Clinical Manager provides clinical leadership, oversight, and supervision to Peer Support Specialists delivering behavioral health and recovery-based services. This role ensures that peer-delivered services align with ethical standards, evidence-based practices, and North Carolina regulatory requirements.

The Clinical Manager supports program integrity, staff development, compliance, and quality assurance while fostering a recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive service model.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Oversight & Supervision  

Provide clinical supervision and consultation to Peer Support Specialists

Ensure services are recovery-focused, strengths-based, and trauma-informed

Review documentation for clinical appropriateness, compliance, and quality

Provide guidance on risk assessment, crisis response, and safety planning

Approve service plans and clinical documentation as required

Program Integrity & Compliance  

Ensure adherence to North Carolina service definitions and state regulations

Monitor service delivery for ethical and professional standards

Participate in audits, corrective action plans, and performance improvement initiatives

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state and federal behavioral health regulations

Staff Development  

Provide ongoing coaching and case consultation

Support professional growth and continuing education

Facilitate clinical training and peer development sessions

Promote best practices in behavioral health and substance use recovery

Collaboration & Leadership  

Work closely with executive leadership to support program outcomes

Assist with policy development and refinement

Support interdisciplinary collaboration across programs

Contribute to program evaluation and outcome tracking







Requirements

Candidates must hold an active North Carolina license in one of the following:

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) – Preferred

Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) – Highly Preferred

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC)

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

Qualified Professional (QP)

Additional Requirements:

Active, unrestricted North Carolina license

Minimum 3–5 years of post-licensure clinical experience

Experience supervising behavioral health staff or peer support providers

Strong knowledge of Medicaid, documentation standards, and compliance requirements in North Carolina

Ability to provide virtual supervision and clinical oversight

Preferred Qualifications

Strong background in substance use disorder treatment (highly preferred)

Experience with peer support service models

Knowledge of Medicaid-funded behavioral health services in North Carolina

Familiarity with electronic health record systems

Excellent written, documentation, and compliance oversight skills

Strong ethical judgment and leadership presence

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Fully remote/virtual role (must be licensed in North Carolina)

Flexible scheduling based on supervision and program needs

Occasional in-person meetings may be required if necessary
