Motion Designer & Video Editor

Remote, USA

Full-time

You'll receive talking-head video footage alongside a script and creative direction. Your job is to take that raw material and produce a finished, premium short-form video — handling everything from typography and motion graphics to pacing, composition, and visual progression. The footage is the starting point. The craft is yours.

What you need to be able to do

Design a custom typography system for each video — not caption overlays, but type that is built to sell the message

Animate text with precision — dynamic reveals, strong emphasis on key phrases, controlled rhythm and easing

Apply motion graphics that feel custom — connected to the content, not dropped in from a template library

Design stat and proof sections that look sharp and credible, not abstract or decorative

Build visual escalation from hook to CTA — the video should increase in energy and intensity

Control depth and layering — foreground, subject, graphics, and background working together intentionally

Establish and hold one visual language per video — no style drift, no mixed aesthetics

Make transition choices motivated by the edit, not by what a plugin offers

Tools

After Effects is required — this is non-negotiable

Premiere Pro for assembly and rough cut is fine alongside AE

Bonus: Cinema 4D, DaVinci Fusion, or 3D compositing experience

Portfolio — what works and what doesn't

Pass

Reel built primarily in CapCut or Premiere

Heavy use of pre-made template assets

Text that reads like animated subtitles

Inconsistent visual language within a single piece

Graphics that decorate rather than support the message

Strong yes

Custom kinetic type built from scratch in AE

Stat or data sections designed to convince, not just display

Each piece has one clear, held visual identity

Work that earns attention before you hear the audio

Lyric videos, premium brand ads, or high-retention creator content

Reference direction

Watch these three examples before applying. Your application must include a short paragraph explaining what makes each one work — specific craft observations, not general praise. Applications without this will not be reviewed.
