Mondelēz International is a leading company in the snacking industry, and they are seeking a Product Development professional for their North America Confections – Jellies business. The role involves organizing and executing projects related to new product development and portfolio maintenance while ensuring compliance with RDQ, marketing, and manufacturing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and execute projects in line with RDQ, marketing and manufacturing requirements, effectively communicating status and risks
  • Plan and conduct pilot plant and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements and development activities (e.g. product shelf-life testing, designing for quality, consumer test preparation etc.)
  • Write technical reports that will require the analysis and interpretation of results and that lead to conclusions and recommendations and create and maintain accurate consumer-led specifications
  • Participate in cross functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Write process specifications that deliver consistent, high-quality products across numerous manufacturing facilities

Skills

  • Food science, science, or engineering ideally in a fast-moving consumer goods market
  • Working on teams and independently with the guidance of a manager
  • Personal drive and organization
  • Prioritizing and managing activities
  • Planning, and executing work plans with some supervision
  • Identifying problems proactively and creating and implementing solutions independently
  • Applying fundamental technical understanding to interpret and analyze data to reach clear conclusions
  • Communicating effectively verbally and in writing, including technical writing
  • Putting the consumer at the heart of development activities
  • BS in Food Science, Chemical Engineering or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in related field
  • Strong technical foundation and technical curiosity
  • Participate in cross functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Write process specifications that deliver consistent, high-quality products across numerous manufacturing facilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization
  • Travel up to 30%, to locations in Canada, US, and Mexico
