Vista Del Mar Child & Family Services is dedicated to empowering children, youth, and families in Southern California. The OPS/SBS Clinician provides individual, group, and family counseling in various settings, including clinics and schools, while collaborating with school personnel and community partners to support client treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual, group, and family counseling in clinic and field (school, home, community-based locations) 3-5 days a week, with the distribution of number of clinic vs field-based cases based on clinic and school-specific needs
  • Attends weekly supervision
  • Attends monthly staff meetings
  • Consults with school personnel, community partners and treatment team (social workers, psychiatrists, pediatricians, schoolteachers, etc.) to cultivate strong relations with schools and support client treatment and coordinate care
  • Must adhere to productivity requirements for DMH contract: expectations are monitored by unit of service completion and must be 50% of work week that is billable time
  • Completes all documentation in accordance with DMH, Medi-Cal, and agency guideline
  • Work effectively within a milieu of professionals serving children and families while maintaining professionalism, collaboration, and trauma-informed practice
  • Performs job duties during scheduled work hours unless approved otherwise, and accurately records time worked in compliance with FLSA and agency po
  • Other duties as assigned by Clinical Supervisor consistent and related to above duties

Skills

  • Master's degree in social work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field
  • Current registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an ACSW, AMFT, or APCC is required for candidates who have obtained their Master's degree
  • Demonstrated knowledge of public-school systems and comfort working in school, home, and community-based setting
  • Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance to travel throughout Los Angeles County
  • 1- year of previous related work experience is preferred
