WHAT YOU’LL DO

 

Ascend is hiring a part-time Order & Billing Specialist to support our Jones & Bartlett Learning business. In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for customer order inquiries, applying your strong customer service and order management skills to resolve issues with professionalism and accuracy. You will collaborate cross-functionally with sales, inventory, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment. This is an excellent opportunity for a quick learner who thrives in a service-oriented environment and enjoys building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

 

 

WHERE YOU’LL WORK

 

This role will work remotely within the United States. This position will work 20 hours per week. 

 

 

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME

 

Handle daily, weekly, and monthly order management tasks, as well as special service and billing projects

Act as the first point of contact for customer order inquiries, supporting product selection and resolving issues with professional, courteous service

Review and process new sales orders, change orders, quotes, and cancellations via phone, email, or internal ticket system

Answer questions regarding products, pricing, and proof of delivery

Collaborate with inventory, sales, and warehouse teams to ensure orders are fulfilled on time

Maintain accurate client information in Elan (ERP system) and manage escalated internal, client, and partner inquiries with supporting documentation within established service levels

Cultivate internal relationships with the sales organization and communicate pertinent customer concerns to sales personnel

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred; high school diploma or GED required

2+ years of experience in account management, customer service, or sales support

Experience using D365 CRM; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred

Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a positive, collaborative approach to working across teams

Proven customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple systems and client accounts simultaneously

Self-motivated critical thinker who can work independently with minimal supervision, while also contributing to team initiatives

Experience with reporting creation and analysis preferred
