Job Description

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Performance Engineer/Tester for a 12-month contract with our financial client in Kansas City, MO.

5 days per month of remote work flexibility.

Compensation: $65 - $70 per hour (W2), depending on skill and experience level.

What You'll Do:

In this senior-level role, you will lead full lifecycle performance testing acrossplex, large-scale payment platforms.

Your responsibilities include:

Executing end-to-end performance testing: requirements analysis, planning, scripting, execution, evaluation, and reporting

Assessingmunication protocols and selecting appropriate scripting approaches

Leveraging advanced programming skills (Python, Java, JavaScript, Visual Basic, Linuxmand languages, etc.)

Collaborating with product, engineering, architecture, infrastructure, and implementation teams to define performance success criteria

Designing and executing load, stress, volume, failover, and scalability tests

Coordinating test activities across multiple dependent teams

Integrating security requirements and performing related manual validations

Monitoring server utilization and evaluating system behavior throughout tests

Reviewing code, maintaining performance test scenarios, and managing test data

Analyzing production logs to model peak/target loads

Uploading performance artifacts to Subversion or other tools as needed

Partnering with configuration management to schedule automated performance tests

Maintaining scripts and integrating API performance testing into CI pipelines

Collecting and correlating front-end and back-end performance metrics to produceprehensive reports

Supporting performance testing tools and participating in Agile ceremonies

Troubleshooting bottlenecks and resolving performance-related issues

Keeping current with emerging performance engineering technologies and adapting them into workflows

Using Jenkins and other automation tools to align performance scenarios with CI/CD processes

Qualifications:

Must be a US citizen or a Green Card holder/Permanent Resident with at least 3 years of residency.

8+ years of performance testing experience, including 3+ years supporting large-scale environments

6+ years of experience with performance testing methodologies, tools, and scripting

Hands on scripting experience using LoadRunner and JMeter

Strong analytical skills for diagnosing and improving system performance

End-to-end experience with load, stress, spike, scalability, and volume testing

Strong skills in load generation, bottleneck analysis, modeling tools, and statistical analysis

Experience with Dynatrace, Splunk, and other monitoring platforms

Ability to analyze performance results and create clear, actionable reports

Proficiency with IntelliJ/Eclipse and Git/Subversion

Experience generating performance metrics and dashboards

Desired Skills/Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.

Experience developing performance scripts for MQ, Java Cloud, and AWS applications

Understanding of advanced Java concepts such as threading, exceptions, I/O, and memory management

Experience with payment applications and message queues (major pluses)
