Podcast Editor — Short-Form Climate Show, 2x/Week, 5-Min Episodes

Full-time

Hi! I'm Heidi Sevestre, a glaciologist and climate communicator launching a new short-form podcast called Unhinged Cryosphere, punchy, Gen Z–coded storytelling about what's actually happening to glaciers, ice sheets, and the polar world. Smart, urgent, a little chaotic, never preachy.

I'm looking for a reliable editor to handle two 5-minute episodes per week (~8–9 finished episodes/month) on an ongoing basis.

What I'll send you:

Raw audio I've recorded (solo, voice-only)

A reusable intro/outro I've already made

Brief notes flagging any moments I want emphasized

What I need from you:

Background music for the intro/outro

Cleanup: remove ums, filler words, long pauses, breaths, fumbles

Light polish: leveling, EQ, noise reduction, consistent loudness

Stitch on the intro/outro

Add tasteful sound effects where I flag them (occasional, ice cracking, wind, low rumble) from a royalty-free library or generated

Deliver final mastered MP3, ready to upload, and to upload everything on the right channels.

Turnaround: 48 hours from when I send the raw file.

What I do NOT need: show notes, transcripts, video, distribution help, or scripting. Just clean, polished audio.

Vibe matters: the show is fast and irreverent. Episodes should feel snappy, not soft. If you've edited shows like Search Engine, Normal Gossip, or short-form journalism podcasts, that's the energy.

Budget: Please quote a per-episode rate.

To apply: Skip the template cover letter. In the first line of your response, tell me the most interesting podcast you've ever edited and one sentence on why. Attach 1–2 short audio samples of your work (raw + edited if possible).

Looking forward to finding the right person to build this with.

Heïdi
