Summary

The Product Manager contributes to driving product strategy and roadmap development, and is responsible for leading product strategy and execution across the full product lifecycle, from identifying customer needs to delivering high-quality software solutions. This role balances strategic product leadership responsibilities with cross-functional execution to ensure successful delivery.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively bridge customer insights, business priorities, and technical execution. This role works closely with engineering, design, sales, marketing, support, and leadership to deliver products that drive business value and improve customer experience.

Essential Functions

Discovery 

Develop deep expertise in Aquent’s business, staffing industry trends and customer needs to inform strategic product decisions

Articulate our product vision, strategy, and organizational priorities to ensure initiatives align with business goals

Conduct customer research, interviews, and market analysis to identify customer needs, product opportunities, and market trends

Evaluate and prioritize product opportunities based on customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility

Use customer feedback, analytics, and market insights to inform product decisions and roadmap priorities

Identify opportunities for product enhancements, innovation, and operational efficiencies

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration 

Partner with leadership, sales, marketing, support, and operational teams on product priorities, roadmap decisions, and release strategy.

Communicate product decisions, progress, risks, timelines, and outcomes proactively to key stakeholders and team members

Translate customer needs and business priorities into product decisions and technical direction

Coordinate product launches and ensure organizational readiness across impacted teams

Delivery & Execution 

Translate product strategy into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation

Own, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog to ensure teams remain focused on high-value work

Partner closely with engineering and design teams throughout development cycles 

Contribute to sprint planning, stand-ups, product reviews, testing, and release planning activities to support successful product delivery

Make real-time tradeoff decisions to support timely product delivery while maintaining product quality

Job Requirements

 

Education / Experience 

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred

Equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and professional experience demonstrating specialized expertise

Minimum of 3 years of experience in product ownership, product management, product strategy, or related roles

Experience working directly with engineering teams in fast-paced product development environments

Experience supporting products throughout various stages of the product lifecycle preferred

Experience working in Agile development environments preferred

Preferred Qualifications 

Background in staffing, workforce management, or HRIS technology

Bias toward action with a willingness to collaborate

Familiarity with roadmapping and engineering workflow tools like Jira

Experience working in a startup, high-growth or scaling organizations where roles responsibilities may evolve 

Skills

Experience using AI tools to deliver business value

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present options and recommendations to senior leadership

Clear prioritization and decision-making skills

Ability to balance strategic planning with execution-focused responsibilities

Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
