The Department of Conservation (DOC) is dedicated to protecting and restoring nature across Aotearoa. They are seeking a Project Coordinator to provide critical support for the Mobilising for Nature programme, assisting with project administration, stakeholder communication, and ensuring effective delivery of complex projects.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up and administering contracts
  • Pulling finance reports, tracking expenses, and paying invoices
  • Collecting and entering data in spreadsheets and preparing data visualisations for different audiences
  • Organising meetings, take minutes, and maintain decision register
  • Keeping key programme administration materials up to date
  • Assisting with report collation and creation
  • Supporting the successful delivery of the programme within time, cost, and quality parameters
  • Using procurement systems (SAP) data visualisation application (Power BI) and office software (MS suite)

Skills

  • Proven project coordination experience
  • High level of organisation and planning ability
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Problem solving, proactive, and flexible mindset
  • Tech savvy; proficient in MS programs, and a quick learner of systems
  • Effective communication skills and relationship building skills
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment
  • Experience in finance or working with numbers such as for budgeting, expenses, Accounts Payable, invoices is highly advantageous
  • Interest in marketing, public relations, and/or engagement
  • Experience with SAP
  • Comfort with ambiguity
