Public Utilities Regulatory Analyst I
The California Public Utilities Commission is seeking a Public Utilities Regulatory Analyst I to join its Customer Programs team within the Public Advocates Office. The role involves conducting economic, financial, and policy research related to distributed energy resources, advocating for ratepayer interests, and preparing reports and recommendations for senior staff.
Responsibilities
- Conduct economic, financial, and policy research and analysis related to distributed energy resources (DERs), with an emphasis on renewable generation and energy efficiency
- Write reports, testimony, and other advocacy materials and make recommendations to senior staff and management
- Represent ratepayer interests in workshops, working groups, industry and stakeholder meetings, legislative hearings, or in other agency forums
Skills
- Eligibility for the classification
- Experience in designing research, collecting data, conducting analysis using Excel or other computer-based quantitative tools, and making practical recommendations
- Experience writing and presenting reports that include findings, conclusions and recommendations
- Experience in establishing and maintaining cooperative and positive working relationships with others on internal and external teams
- Completed Application Packages including your Examination/Employment Application (STD 678) and applicable or required documents
- Current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678 (when not applying electronically), or the Electronic State Employment Application through your Applicant Account at www.CalCareers.ca.gov
