[Remote] Clerical Assistant

The Hartford is an insurance company committed to making a difference, and they are seeking a detail-oriented Clerical Assistant to support their legal team. This role involves assisting attorneys with case management, document organization, and ensuring efficient operations within the Tort practice group.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys and legal staff with administrative and case-related tasks, including scheduling, subpoena data entry, calendaring court deadlines, and organizing case materials
- Maintain and organize digital case files, ensuring documents are accurately filed, properly labeled, and easily accessible throughout the litigation process
- Monitor and track case progress, deadlines, and deliverables to help keep the team on schedule
- Process and associate electronic correspondence with appropriate case files, ensuring timely and accurate updates
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail and physical materials as needed, while supporting the transition to a paperless workflow
- Work closely with attorneys and staff to address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure efficient case support
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to firm policies and procedures
Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Previous experience in a legal support role required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Familiarity with insurance defense or Tort matters preferred
- Knowledge of Personal Injury Protection (PIP) case support is a plus
- Experience with electronic document management systems
