Retirement Consultant

As a licensed Retirement Consultant, you will support clients with their retirement needs by providing recommendations and investment advice, while contributing to the company's mission.
Responsibilities
- Proactively call existing Group Retirement Savings plan members (Sun Life clients) who are at or approaching retirement to discuss retirement income options to meet their stage of life
- Provide investment advice to clients, through consultation related to their financial needs, including savings, and retirement income
- Partner with clients to be ‘retirement ready’ through the use of financial planning tools
- Keep abreast of product changes, understand new products that that come to market, keep a pulse on industry changes and competitor products
- Contribute to sales targets by meeting or exceeding objectives
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to quickly build rapport and relationships with clients over the phone
- Strong listening skills and the ability to probe by asking questions to understand needs
- Self motivated and can work independently
- Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide
- Valid and active Life Insurance License (LLQP) or Insurance of person license in Quebec (1a)
- We're seeking experienced financial advisors and financial planners for this exciting role! If you have a background in financial advising or planning however do not have a valid LLQP/1a we invite you to apply. Should you be a successful candidate selected for the role, you would be required to complete the LLQP/1a within 3 months of your start date
- Minimum of 1-3 years of related sales experience in the financial services industry is preferred
- Experience selling wealth products over the phone
- Completion of a college or university degree
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation or Financial planner designation (IQPF)
- Canadian Securities Course (CSC)
- Canadian Investment Fund Course (IFIC)
