The Soc/Clin Research Assistant will gather, organize, and disseminate data for population-based epidemiologic cancer research studies, working closely with the RCA Coordinator and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, organize, and disseminate data for population-based epidemiologic cancer research studies that utilize Rapid Case Ascertainment (RCA)
  • Work under the guidance of the RCA Coordinator
  • Interface with hospital cancer registrars and university researchers
  • Interact with a team of NC Central Cancer Registry staff to provide quality support for cancer research
  • Access pathology reports

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions
  • Ability to analyze data collection methods and workflow processes and recommend improvements is critical to this position
  • Education or experience involving relational database methodology preferred
  • Experience preparing professional reports and/or manuals preferred
  • Experience working w/ PHI
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products including: Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Publisher
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records
