Hygiena is a company that provides rapid microbiology diagnostic tests and solutions for mission-critical processes worldwide. They are seeking a Software Engineer – Android to contribute to coding, testing, and integration efforts for their software solutions, primarily focused on enhancing food safety.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coding in Kotlin, Java and SQLite. Applies design changes to be reviewed by senior level team members. Assists in larger coding projects as needed
  • Performs unit testing to confirm code is working properly
  • Assist in ensuring all results of testing and configurations are properly integrated into Azure DevOps
  • Performs Integration Testing to ensure components are functioning properly as needed
  • Ensures compliance with and/or follows all organizational systems, programs, training, policies, and procedures as required and complies with relevant legal mandates. Seeks guidance as necessary
  • Actively supports and participates in the safety program, both for self-protection and the protection of other employees, by reading and abiding by all requirements in the Safety Manual and Injury Illness Prevention Program (IIPP)
  • Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical and professional manner
  • Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner
  • Handles various other duties as delegated by Manager

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • 0-2 years of experience preferred that includes the following: Kanban or SCRUM agile methodology, Building self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components, Building Cloud based infrastructure, Proficiency with Kotlin, Java and SQLite preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Must be able to use discretion and independent judgement
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Must be able to pay close attention to details
  • Must be able to adapt and flex to a changing environment
