VMS Program Manager
Overview
The VMS Program Manager is a key member of the Solution Engineering team and serves as the internal subject matter expert for Vendor Management System (VMS) platforms that support client workforce programs. This role is responsible for the oversight and management of VMS platforms throughout the full program lifecycle, acting as the primary point of contact for all VMS-related activities. Responsibilities include partnering with clients, VMS providers, and internal stakeholders to support system configuration, integrations, onboarding, and ongoing platform optimization.
The VMS Program Manager translates workforce program requirements into effective system design, ensures data integrity across integrated platforms, and provides operational support to maintain system performance. Through close collaboration with Solution Engineering, Operations, IT, Client Success, Client Growth, and client stakeholders, this role ensures VMS platforms are configured accurately, integrations function as intended, and workforce programs operate efficiently and scale in alignment with client needs
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all VMS-related activities across assigned client programs
Lead VMS configuration, setup, and optimization during client onboarding, implementation, and program expansion
Manage ongoing system administration, configuration updates, and operational support to align with workforce program requirements
Partner with clients to optimize VMS usage, provide guidance on platform capabilities, and support program growth and scalability
Collaborate with internal teams (Solution Engineering, Operations, IT, Client Success, and Client Growth) to translate business needs into effective system solutions
Configure and maintain VMS modules, workflows, user roles, permissions, and business rules across platforms
Administer and support integrations between VMS platforms and internal/external systems (e.g., ATS, HRIS, payroll, ERP), ensuring data accuracy and integrity
Monitor system performance, automated data feeds, and integrations; troubleshoot issues and coordinate resolution with IT and VMS vendors
Serve as the primary internal escalation point for VMS system issues, enhancements, and optimization opportunities
Develop and maintain system documentation, reports, dashboards, and analytics to support operational and leadership decision-making
Manage relationships with VMS technology providers, stay current on platform updates and best practices, and communicate relevant changes to stakeholders
Qualifications
Prefer 3–7+ years of experience working with Vendor Management Systems (VMS) within staffing, MSP, or contingent workforce program environments
Hands-on experience configuring or administering VMS platforms
Strong understanding of contingent workforce programs and supplier management models
Experience supporting system integrations across HR or workforce technology platforms
Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and lead external-facing conversations
Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business solutions for non-technical stakeholders
Proven ability to work cross-functionally across operational, technical, and client-facing teams
Recommended Skills & Training
VMS platform certification or formal system training is a plus

Pay Range
USD $90,000.00 - USD $115,000.00 /Yr.
