About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Science and Analytics team, focusing on Customer Service. As a Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in building reliable, scalable data pipelines, transforming raw data into core business metrics, and working with custom visualization tools to surface Customer Service insights. You will collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, and business owners to drive a delightful, efficient experience for our members and improve our product based on their feedback.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data pipelines using big data technologies such as Hive, Presto, Spark, and Flink
• Transform raw data into core business metrics, enabling data-driven decision-making and insights
• Work with custom visualization tools to surface Customer Service insights and drive business outcomes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, software engineers, and business owners, to drive a delightful customer experience
• Develop and maintain strong data modeling skills, designing structures that are adaptable to changes in source data or business processes
• Write clean, supportable code in Python or Scala, with a passion for data quality and advocacy for best practices

Essential Qualifications

• At least 4 years of experience engineering data pipelines using big data technologies on medium to large-scale data sets (10s of millions of records)
• Strong data modeling skills, with the ability to design structures that are adaptable to changes in source data or business processes
• Strong proficiency in Python or Scala, with a passion for writing clean, supportable code
• Advanced SQL skills, with a strong understanding of data quality and best practices
• Analytical aptitude, with the ability to think through business problems and prioritize autonomously
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work productively with analysts, engineers, and business leaders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or GCP
• Knowledge of data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
• Experience with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban
• Strong understanding of data governance and data security best practices

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

At arenaflex, we offer a competitive compensation package, with a range of $170,000 - $720,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
