Geotechnical New Graduate (British Columbia)
AtkinsRéalis is a world-class engineering services and nuclear organization, and they are seeking a Geotechnical New Graduate for their Odyssey program. This role offers hands-on experience and mentorship in soil mechanics, slope stability, dikes and dams, excavation, and tunneling projects to prepare graduates for their professional journey.
Responsibilities
- Soil mechanics and numerical modeling: The study and representation of soil properties and behavior in order to assess its suitability for construction projects
- Slope stability: Assessment and design of slopes to prevent landslides and ensure stability
- Dikes and dams: Design, construction and analysis of dikes and dams for water management and flood control
- Excavation and retaining structures: Design of soil and rock excavations, consolidation and retaining systems, walls and other structures to retain soil and prevent erosion
- Tunnels and underground structures: Planning and construction of tunnels and other underground facilities
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in geotechnical or equivalent (Graduation in 2026)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
