Hiring & Pre-Employment Analyst

The California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation (CDCR) is one of the nation’s largest correctional departments, dedicated to enhancing public safety. They are seeking a Hiring & Pre-Employment Analyst to streamline the hiring process through their new Human Resources Technology System, providing real-time updates and managing candidate communications.

Responsibilities

• Implement the new automated system to streamline the hiring process
• Provide applicants access to real-time updates throughout the hiring process
• Assist candidates in setting up their accounts and tracking their application's progress
• Facilitate communication with applicants regarding their application status

Skills

• Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment
• If you are meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, you must include your unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification
• Official transcripts may be required upon appointment
• Candidates new to CDCR or CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by departmental annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter
• Applicants who completed their education outside of the US (with foreign degrees/transcripts) must obtain and submit verification of U.S. course/degree equivalency
• CDCR/CCHCS utilizes E-Verify to confirm candidate's identity and employment authorization
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and analytical skills
• Knowledge of the State of California's civil service personnel laws, regulations, policies, practices
• Experience partnering with internal stakeholders and/or external stakeholders
• Experience working with stakeholders to resolve sensitive personnel issues
• Proficient in expressing ideas and information in writing and orally, clearly, accurately, and in an organized manner
• Ability to effectively lead under pressure, adjust to shifting priorities and meet stated deadlines
• Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, independence, and flexibility
• Ability to handle multiple tasks while being creative and remaining highly motivated
