Internal Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - System Float Pool
ECU Health is a mission-driven, 1,708-bed academic health care system serving more than 1.4 million people in 29 eastern North Carolina counties. They are hiring experienced nurses for 13-week travel assignments in their system float pool, responsible for providing and coordinating nursing care in accordance with established standards and practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice and other standards established by profession/professional groups, regulating bodies/agents
- Deliver nursing care in accordance with ECU Health and entity specific nursing policies, procedures and professional standards of care/practice
- Provide and coordinate nursing care including the collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes and development of plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members
- Identify interventions to attain expected outcomes, implement the interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluate the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes, and document the process
- Promote and evaluate the effective functioning of the health care team
- Collaborate with health care team members to meet the identified needs of the patient/family throughout the episode of care
- Delegate tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by NC Nurse Practice Act
Skills
- Diploma in Nursing, Associates in Nursing or higher
- Greater than 1 year of nursing experience is required
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification is required
- Flexibility in scheduling to meet the twenty four (24) hour needs of the patients
- Possess organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to utilize effective and confidential communication in patient, interdisciplinary, and staff relationships
- Maintains stable performance levels under conditions of pressure and multiple demands
- Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications
- Not be currently employed by ECU Health or separated for 92 days, having left in good standing
- Have active CPI certification or have the ability to acquire it during orientation for ED
- Bachelor Degree is preferred
- Have at least 2 years of nursing experience is preferred for the system float pool
- Have ACLS and PALS certifications
