Junior Product Software Engineer
Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe. The role involves supporting a suite of web-based applications for data management, where the candidate will engage in software development using Java and Agile methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
- Debug existing software and correct defects
- Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
- Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features
- Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments
- Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories
Skills
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Note: 4 years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a degree
- A minimum of 6 months' experience with Java
- Familiarity with Agile methods and tools
- Familiarity with Relational databases such as Postgres
- Familiarity with Using Maven, Git and Jenkins environments
- Ability to work in a team environment; good communication and collaboration skills; self-starter
