Plaintiff Mass Torts Staff Attorney

Kershaw Talley Barlow is a nationally recognized plaintiff-side litigation firm based in Sacramento. They are seeking a motivated and experienced Staff Attorney to manage mass tort matters, focusing on client management in complex litigation without traditional litigation responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the merits of potential mass tort and product liability cases
• Manage an active litigation docket with cases at various stages of development
• Conduct client intake and maintain consistent client communication
• Draft plaintiff fact sheets, claim submissions, correspondence, and reports
• Review, organize, and analyze medical records and other case documentation
• Prepare detailed case evaluations, damages analyses, and settlement recommendations
• Perform legal research and draft memoranda, motions, and discovery materials
• Maintain docket calendars and ensure deadlines are met
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, intake specialists, and staff
• Manage and direct an assigned intake or support team, as applicable
• Interface with clients, client representatives, and experts
• Participate in firm-wide case strategy and team collaboration

Skills

• JD from an accredited law school
• At least one year of litigation experience, preferably in mass torts, product liability, warranty defense, insurance defense, or complex civil litigation
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to accurately assess legal risk and calculate damages and settlement options
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage a high-volume docket with minimal supervision
• Team-oriented mindset combined with the ability to work independently
• Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines
• Willingness to travel periodically for case related support as needed
• Active California bar license and good standing
• Qualified candidates licensed in other states may be considered
