Senior Sales Engineer - Federal
- Partner with Federal Account Executives to support opportunities across U.S. Federal agencies
- Lead technical discovery to understand mission requirements, security constraints, and compliance needs
- Design secure, scalable architectures using RSA’s identity and access security solutions
- Support the full sales lifecycle, from early‑stage qualification through close
- Deliver technical presentations, architecture reviews, and product demonstrations to federal customers
- Lead and support:
- Proofs of Concept (POCs)
- Technical evaluations
- RFP/RFI technical responses
- Clearly articulate RSA’s value proposition and technical differentiation in federal use cases
- Ensure solutions align with federal standards and frameworks such as:
- NIST (e.g., SP 800‑53, 800‑63)
- FedRAMP
- FISMA
- Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) initiatives
- Support discussions around accreditation, authorization, and security posture as required
- Work closely with federal systems integrators, resellers, and technology partners
- Support partner‑led opportunities and joint customer engagements
- Enable partners with technical knowledge, best practices, and solution guidance
- Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success teams
- Provide feedback from federal customers to influence roadmap and enablement priorities
- Maintain accurate opportunity documentation and technical notes in CRM systems
- Bachelors in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS or equivalent
- 5+ years of previous experience as Systems Engineer
- Authentication and/ or Identity Governance Access Management
- Strong experience in cybersecurity, with focus on one or more of the following:
- Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Authentication, MFA, SSO, Passwordless
- Access governance and identity lifecycle
- Secure access in hybrid and cloud environments
- Ability to design and explain complex security architectures
- Experience supporting U.S. Federal customers in a pre‑sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting role
- Familiarity with federal procurement processes and longer sales cycles
- Experience working with regulated and mission‑critical environments
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Comfortable engaging with technical, security, and executive stakeholders
- Strong problem‑solving mindset and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities in parallel
- U.S. citizenship required
- Active or ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (level dependent on role and customer)
- Prior experience with federal identity or access security programs
- Knowledge of Zero Trust initiatives within the federal government
- Experience supporting DoD, civilian agencies, or intelligence community customers
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, Security+, CCSP, vendor certifications)
- Flexibility to cover all US time zones
- Business Travel Required
