Staff Accountant
Innovatis Group is a rapidly growing association management company committed to redefining partnership and impact. They are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to manage complex financial reporting, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support the overall financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Perform account reconciliations and analysis, resolving any discrepancies
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
- Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies, as well as external regulatory requirements
- Support the annual audit process, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and support business initiatives
- Assist in special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment and able to commute to the office at least three days per week
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to convey information clearly and professionally
- Physical requirements: must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods as needed
- CPA Certification not required but is a plus
- Knowledge of QuickBooks Online a plus
